Course Descriptions

This course is a compulsory for all in-service teacher or English Education students of PGRI Semarang University. This course provides students with some theoretical and practical knowledge of instructional media covering various kinds of media, skills of selecting, developing, operating interactive and inexpensive visuals for EFL classes, using printed materials including songs, and multimedia help the students give variation of media used in language teaching

Learning Outcomes

 

1.Knowledge and Understanding

a. understand the history of  Learning and Teaching Media in the ELT

b. comprehend basic concept of Media application in ELT

c. distinguish the techniques and procedures of computer and non-computer based media by using particular authoring program and software.

d. identify related media  for  particular school/students’ needs

 

2.Skill and Ability

a. conduct Media need analysis of the school/students

b. design Non-computer-Based Media based on STORY BOARD

b. integrate the design with the school/students’ needs

c. implement or apply or practice the design into the classroom

d. evaluate  and revise the design for  the improvement of the application

 

3.Intellectual behavior and Scientific Ethics

  1. work cooperatively in a small group environment
  2. behave properly in the classroom
  3. responsible for the content and the  product of the media designed
