RPS (Rencanan Perkuliahan Semester)
The course is leading to the effort to develop students’ competence in writing correct, meaningful, and intelligible English paragraphs. It is aimed at assisting students to write paragraphs by following some processes of writing. This course covers the lectures on theories covering process of writing, organization of paragraphs, unity and completeness, coherence and cohesion, sentence problems in a paragraph, and types of paragraph. Classroom activities are focused on lecturing, discussion, (pair & group work), practice and presentation. The course assessment is based on the sum of the students’ attendance, assignments, presentation, and tests.

This course is specifically addressed to equip the students with knowledge of foundational language assessment concepts which cover the relation between teaching teaching, assessment and testing, principles of language assessment, steps in designing language tests, standardized tests, and apply these to the selection, use and interpretation of externally-developedstandardized tests and to the adaptation, development, administration, scoring and interpretationof classroom assessments. Students will also become familiar with current social issues in nationaltesting.

Learning Outcomes- Acquiring the key concepts of writing skills through learning experiences of writing components (mechanics, capitalization, grammar) and sentence constructions (parts of a sentence) in order to produce correct, meaningful, understandable, and intelligible types of sentence; simple, compound, complex, and combination sentence.

- Acknowledging and comprehending the key concepts of sentence construction through the study of parts of a sentence and writing mechanics accurately.
