Course Descriptions

This course is designed to give students some introductory overview on the application of English in business context. Students will learn some applications of such Business English as business writing. In addition, some practical skills, such as writing business letters, memos, faxes, emails, and application letters, are included in the course. The course interaction will mainly require the students to deal with pair/group work, discussion, and presentation. Therefore, students are expected to take an active participation during the pair/group work, discussion, and presentation.                                  

Learning Outcomes

A. Skill

  1. The students are expected to be able to produce written English in business context including writing business letters, memos, faxes, emails, and application letters effectively and intelligibly.
  2. The students are expected to be able to apply knowledge and skills in business context.

B. Knowledge

  1. The students are expected to be able to acquire knowledge on business English and its application.
  2. The students are expected to acknowledge English in written form used to communicate in business English well.

C. Attitude

  1. The students are expected to have high responsibility in handling their job.
  2. The students are expected to be active and creative in running their job.
