RPS (Rencanan Perkuliahan Semester)
The course is leading to the effort to develop students’ competence in writing correct, meaningful, and intelligible English paragraphs. It is aimed at assisting students to write paragraphs by following some processes of writing. This course covers the lectures on theories covering process of writing, organization of paragraphs, unity and completeness, coherence and cohesion, sentence problems in a paragraph, and types of paragraph. Classroom activities are focused on lecturing, discussion, (pair & group work), practice and presentation. The course assessment is based on the sum of the students’ attendance, assignments, presentation, and tests.
Learning OutcomesCPMK1: Apply processes of writing a paragraph accurately in order to produce correct, meaningful, understandable, and intelligible English paragraphs (S8, S9, S10, KU1, KU2, KK1, P14)
CPMK2: Apply organization of a paragraph: Topic Sentence, Supporting Sentences (MASS & MISS), Concluding Sentence in writing a paragraph accurately (S8, S9, S10, KU1, KU2, KK1, P14)
CPMK3: Apply Unity, Completeness, Coherence and Cohesion of paragraphs accurately (S8, S9, S10, KU1, KU2, KK1, P14)
CPMK4: Analyze and correct Sentence Problems in a Paragraph: fragment, Comma Splice, Run-on Sentence, and Dangling Modifier accurately (S8, S9, S10, KU1, KU2, KK1, P14)
CPMK5: Analyze narrative, descriptive, and expository paragraphs accurately. (S8, S9, S10, KU1, KU2, KK1, P14)
CPMK6: Compose correct, meaningful, understandable, and intelligible various types of paragraph: narrative, descriptive, and expository (S8, S9, S10, KU1, KU2, KK1, P14)
