Course Descriptions

This course is linguistic exploration into language acquisition. It begins with an overview of child’s first language development and attempt to understand how language learners know so much about their language while they were given so little. 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: ▪ Students will gain knowledge of language based on linguistic description and analysis of the youth and adult language acquisition so that they may be better equipped to handle linguistic problems faced by language learners.

It introduces language aptitude, second language processing, the ingredients of language acquisition, cross linguistic influences, texts, task, and advanced language learners, language and social cognition, factors that affect acquisition, approaches to the acquisition of grammar, and age and language acquisition

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
