Course Descriptions

This course is leading to the effort to develop students’ competence in writing correct, meaningful, and intelligible English texts. It is aimed at assisting students to write English texts by applying the generic structures and language features correctly in line with their social functions. This course covers the lectures on theories covering the definition of genre and its relation to text and types of texts and their structure. Classroom activities are focused on lecturing, discussion, pair and group work, and presentation. The course assessment is based on the sum of the students’ attendance, assignments, presentation, and tests.

  9. Mampu menerapkan metode dan proses belajar dan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk tujuan tertentu (English for specific purposes); (KK 5)
  10. Mampu menggunakan bahasa Inggris untuk melakukan pekerjaan yang berhubungan dengan surat menyurat dan administrasi perkantoran (KK 10)
  11. Menguasai konsep teoritis ilmu kebahasaan (linguistics) dan aplikasinya dalam pembelajaran (PP 6)
  12.  Menguasai tehnik berkomunikasi lisan dan tulisan umum (General English) setara tingkat post-intermediate  dan untuk tujuan tertentu (English for Specific Purposes) secara tingkat intermediate dalam konteks keseharian atau umum, akademis dan pekerjaan (PP 11)
  13. Menguasai ketrampilan berbahasa Inggris lisan dan tertulis (PP 13)
  14. Menguasai unsur kebahasaan (language elements) Bahasa Inggris
