Course Descriptions

The course is leading to the efforts to develop students’ competence in writing correct, meaningful, and intelligible Academic writing. It is aimed at assisting students to write English Academic writing. This course covers the lectures on theories covering basic knowledge of academic English text and creating academic writing.  Classroom activities are focused on lecturing, discussions, writing practices.

Learning Outcomes

1.    Identify the Basics principle of academic writing
2.    Understanding the paragraphs organisation
3.    Understanding the Introductions and conclusions in an academic writing
4.    Understanding Academic scientific style
5.    Understanding Case studies
6.    Understanding  and Writing longer papers
7.    Writing Reports and executive summaries
8.    Identify Issues in thesis and dissertation writing in English as a second language
9.    Applying Paraphrase, summary, quotation (APA & MLA)
10.  Using Referencing system for academic article writing (Mendeley)
